Report: Remi Garde tells Aston Villa's Charles N'Zogbia he'll play with the reserves if he doesn't move

Aston Villa

Charles N'Zogbia has played just twice for Aston Villa so far this season.

According to a report on the Daily Mirror’s live transfer feed at 10:26, Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has threatened to banish Charles N’Zogbia to the Under-21 side, unless he leaves today.

Villa are apparently desperate to get the Frenchman off their books, as they look to make room for new additions.

N’Zogbia is one of Villa’s top earners, and is on a reported £65,000-a-week contract.

The 29-year-old’s high salary is blocking Garde’s attempts to sign new players, as he does have the budget to offer big wages to new players.

N’Zogbia has played just twice for Villa this season, but he is reportedly not interested in leaving.

Villa have offered him a pay-off to cut his contract short, and lined him up with a move to AEK Athens, but N’Zogbia is willing to simply allow his contract to run down and leave on a free in the summer.

N’Zogbia’s reluctance to depart has apparently frustrated Garde, and the Frenchman now plans to make one final push to force him out of the club.

Garde will tell N’Zogbia that he is not wanted, and will train with the under-21’s unless he makes a switch today, but there are no guarantees that threat will change the winger’s mind.
