Report: Leicester offered Stoke City’s Mame Biram Diouf

Leicester City

Leicester are rivalling Norwich and Newcastle for Mame Biram Diouf.

Leicester have been offered Mame Biram Diouf of Stoke City, Sky Sports report at 17:41 on their live transfer blog.

The Foxes have decided to pull back their interest in Ahmed Musa due to his price tag, whilst they also continue to consider Loic Remy. However the French forward wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.

Due to the closing transfer window and Claudio Ranieri’s desire to sign a new striker for Leicester, they are considering other targets and are looking at Diouf.

Stoke have offered him out to the Foxes, and they are wondering whether to make a formal approach for the 28-year-old speedster.

Diouf signed for Stoke in the summer of 2014, and has scored 16 goals in 55 games. However, he has struggled for game time this season, starting just seven Premier League fixtures.

They are looking to offload him, and Leicester are the latest team to look at the Senegalese international.

The Sun reported last week that both Newcastle and Norwich City were also tracking Diouf, and they could be ready to make a late swoop for the striker this evening.
