Could Lewis Cook leave Leeds United on transfer deadline day?
Leeds United are expecting enquiries for Lewis Cook on transfer deadline day, according to The Daily Mail.
The British newspaper has reported on its live transfer feed at 8:11am on Monday that a number of scouts watched the 18-year-old midfielder in action at the weekend.
The England Under-19 international featured for Leeds in their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Bolton Wanderers away from home at the Macron Stadium. The youngster played virtually the entire game and helped his side win 2-1.
While clubs may try to sign Cook today, one suspects that Leeds are unlikely to sell him. The 18-year-old is one of the best and most promising young players in the Championship, and he would be a massive loss for the West Yorkshire outfit.
A replacement for Cook would be very hard to find so late in the transfer window, and the likelihood is that Leeds will reject all offers for the teenager today.
