Report: Dwight Gayle to stay at Crystal Palace; contract extension expected

Crystal Palace forward Gayle has been linked with Swansea, Leicester and Norwich.

Dwight Gayle is set to agree a new contract with Crystal Palace, Sky Sports report at 17:40 of their live transfer blog.

The striker has been heavily linked with an exit from Selhurst Park this month, having been used sparingly this season.

The 25-year-old Englishman has featured just 10 times in all competitions for Alan Pardew’s side, and has fallen down the pecking order again with the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Three clubs have made a move for Gayle this month, with the Mail claiming Swansea, Leicester and Norwich have all approached Palace over his transfer.

However, no transfer has materialised in the last four weeks, and Palace are ready to shock many fans by tying Gayle down to a new contract.

The report indicates that the deal will be for four-years, ensuring the striker’s long-term future is at Selhusrt Park.

Their stance has now changed concerning the sale of Gayle, with Palace having no intention of losing a player who has just agreed a new contract.
