Michael Owen makes a big claim about Aaron Lennon's performance on Twitter

The Everton winger impressed the pundit on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Owen believes Aaron Lennon produced the ‘touch of the season’ to set up his goal for Everton against Carlisle United on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, the Toffees travelled to Carlisle in the fourth round of the FA Cup and comfortably dispatched the lower-league side.

And, while Owen wasn’t making totally inappropriate gaffes in commentary - like suggesting Carlisle need it to rain more - he was praising Everton on Twitter.

After their loss to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup, Owen expressed his bewilderment as to how they are in the bottom half of the Premier League.

It’s pretty clear why they are and fans berated him on Twitter for another poor comment…

This time around, though, there were few complaints as he lavished praise on Everton winger Lennon:

Everton being in the fifth-round draw will be a major boost for fans.

After being two goals up on aggregate against Manchester City, the fact Roberto Martinez couldn’t do the obvious thing and defend the lead will have hugely disappointed supporters.

The league looks a bust - so all hope on the FA Cup.
