Lamine Kone has reacted on Twitter after completing a move to Sunderland last week.
The central defender’s switch to the Stadium of Light has been on and off throughout the month, but the two parties finally agreed to a switch last Wednesday.
Kone has signed with Sunderland until 2020, and he says that a move from FC Lorient is a dream come true.
Kone was one of Sunderland’s top targets for January and his arrival considerably strengthens the club’s back-line.
The Black Cats have struggled to keep goals out this season, even after Sam Allardyce’s arrival, but the 61-year-old boss has worked hard to bolster his defensive options in January.
Kone’s arrival follows Jan Kirchhoff’s switch from Bayern Munich, with Allardyce now having a large assortment of defenders to pick from.
Sunderland will need Kone to hit the ground running on Wearside, as they are currently deep in a battle to avoid relegation.
The French-born centre-back could make his debut for Sunderland in their fixture against Manchester City tomorrow.
