The Celtic forward has already been loaned out after just half a year.
Even Nadir Ciftci's harshest critic would have hoped for a different outcome this January.
Indeed, while the 23-year-old could yet return triumphantly to Celtic, he hardly looks destined for success at Parkhead.
As of Deadline day, the forward has been loaned out - while Patrick Roberts and Colin Kazim-Richards have been brought in (Roberts on an 18-month loan).
The odds are already stacked against Ciftci succeeding at Celtic and just how disappointing is it to see him leaving Glasgow on loan after only a few months?
Ciftci may have had his moments with the Bhoys but they were all too rare and usually came against significantly inferior opposition.
Ronny Deila will no doubt hope for a much greater success rate when it comes to Roberts and Kazim-Richards. His job may well depend on it.
As for Ciftci, the 23-year-old will hope for a better time of things in his native Turkey. In fairness, it couldn't go much worse over there...
