Guillem Balague delivers latest Cheryshev update on Twitter, explains Liverpool’s stance

The winger has recently been linked with a move to the Reds.

Spanish transfer reporter Guillem Balague says Liverpool-linked Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev is looking for a way out and is on the verge of a loan move to Sevilla.

However, he suggests Liverpool - who have long been tipped to move for the Russian - are ‘NOT’ looking at him.

Jurgen Klopp is short of numbers at the moment, with the Reds squad boasting an unfortunate number of injuries.

It is also widely acknowledged that Liverpool are well short of quality right now. But it looks as though the Anfield club will look to address that issue in the summer rather than during Deadline Day.

That would be supported by Balague’s claims…

Ideally, Liverpool would sign a new centre-forward before the end of the January transfer window.

But is it better to sign any available striker or wait until summer to sign a better one?

The evidence of Christian Benteke would suggest the former - although even he was bought in the summer…
