Celtic confirmed the loan signing of Manchester City forward Patrick Roberts on Deadline Day.
Indeed, the Bhoys' League Cup semi-final embarrassment on Sunday afternoon - when they were knocked out after a 3-1 defeat to Ross County - has been followed up by the Scottish champions confirming a signing or two in a bid to improve their stuttering squad.
Roberts, of course, had been linked with a loan move from Manchester City for some time but Celtic only finalised the deal on Deadline Day.
Many are pleased that Celtic have been able to attract another talented prospect to Parkhead.
However, not everyone is delighted. Some Celtic fans have expressed disappointment that their own youngsters haven't been prioritised, while some Fulham and Manchester City supporters have also asked questions.
Indeed, couldn't Roberts have just stayed at Fulham for another year?
Celtic may argue he can get European football and compete for trophies in Scotland but Fulham could certainly have done with the teenager in their battle against relegation from the Championship. Here's how the deal was viewed on Twitter...
Still don't know why #ffc didn't loan back Patrick Roberts to begin with— Seán Roberts (@sk_roberts) February 1, 2016
I see Pat Roberts has been shipped out to Celtic for 18 months #FFC— Chris (@simpsonstimpy) February 1, 2016
Fancy Patrick Roberts going to Celtic on loan from Manchester City! He should have remained with Fulham for another year!— David Buik (@truemagic68) February 1, 2016
Why did we steal young Roberts from Fulham to give him away for 18 months after 6 months? #FootballFarm— Derek Perrin (@derekperrin) February 1, 2016
How is Patrick Roberts going Celtic going to help his career..he really was better off staying at Fulham rather than joining city smh..— OsamaBinGuapo (@OGSammyB) February 1, 2016
18 month loan deal for Patrick Roberts - shrewd and clever deal. 18 months is an ideal spell for an 18 year old. #Celtic— Paul Bovill (@paul_bovill) February 1, 2016
Happy that the Roberts deal has been confirmed. 18 month loan is a good deal as well. #Celtic— John McNeil (@JohnMcNeil15) February 1, 2016
@celticfc if I was being cynical I'd suggest this was deliberately held back til deadline day, like Simunovic in August...— Rick Grimes (@SevcoWalkers) February 1, 2016
