David Provan has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Celtic should sign a striker.
The former Celtic winger believes that the Scottish Premiership giants need to sign someone to cover for Leigh Griffiths.
“Shouldn’t Ronny do the bleeding obvious and buy some cover for Leigh Griffiths instead?” Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun.
Griffiths is Celtic’s main striker and has been in superb form for the Bhoys so far this season.
The Scotland international is guaranteed a place in the Celtic starting lineup, but there will be times when he will have to be rested.
While it is understandable that a cover is needed for Griffiths, the fact is that not so long ago the Hoops signed former Chelsea and West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
Is it Deila’s fault that Cole has yet to show that he can be a success at Celtic Park?
Interestingly, Celtic have been linked with a striker on transfer deadline day. According to The Daily Record, the Bhoys want to sign Colin Kazim-Richards from Feyenoord.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 55 points from 23 matches.
Deila’s side are six points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and look set to win the league title yet again this season.
