Celtic have loaned Nadir Ciftci out, just months after signing him.
Celtic have sent Nadir Ciftci out on loan after a poor first few months at the club.
He has joined Super Lig relegation battlers Eskisehirspor until the end of the season, SkySports confirmed yesterday.
Ciftci signed in the summer from Dundee United after a protracted transfer saga, but had to wait until he had served a ban for biting an opponent, for him to make his debut.
When he did, it was not really worth the wait, and Ciftci struggled to hold down a place in the team.
Manager Ronny Deila is of course partly culpable for failing to get the best out of his new signing, but he has also decided he has seen enough for now, and wanted to move him on.
There of course remains a possibility Ciftci returns a better player next season and can salvage his Celtic career.
The 23-year-old scored four goals in 11 Scottish Premiership games, and did not score in any of his six Europa League appearances.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to his departure...
If I can take 1 positive about today it's that I don't have to watch Ciftci play for Celtic again this season.— Kieran Hamill (@KieranHamill8) February 1, 2016
Assuming he doesn't leave #Celtic in the next 4 hours, we'll have given Carlton Cole more time to settle than Ciftci. Amazing.— Paul (@TheRealPaulMcF) February 1, 2016
Ciftci didn't turn pish overnight when he joined Celtic. Poor man management and lack of faith has ruined his chances.— Wallace White (@TW71112) February 1, 2016
Ciftci leaving means #Celtic's striker policy even odder than before, give them a matter of months then punt them, give everyone else time— Paul (@TheRealPaulMcF) February 1, 2016
Ciftci out on loan, another waste of money. Said at the start of the season I would rather we went for Adam Rooney, he'd have banged them in— BTPH (@TheDogzBawz) February 1, 2016
