Celtic have added another exciting young player to their ranks on loan.
Celtic have confirmed on their official Twitter account that new loan signing Patrick Roberts will wear the number 27 shirt at the club.
The 18-year-old winger joined the Bhoys from Manchester City for the next 18 months and he will no doubt be hoping to make a similar impact to another former City loanee – Jason Denayer.
The young Belgian excelled during his time at Celtic Park and now it is up to Roberts to prove he has a bright future in the game by hitting the ground running for Ronny Deila’s side.
The teenager is predominantly a right winger although he can also play on the opposite flank or as an attacking midfielder if required.
He was previously on the books at Fulham, for whom he made 22 first-team appearances, but since moving to the Etihad Stadium Roberts has only featured three times for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
It will be interesting to see how Roberts does in the months ahead, with Celtic knowing they have one of the brightest young prospects in English football in their ranks for the next year and a half.
