Brentford target Wolves defender Ebanks-Landell

HITC Sport understands that Brentford are eyeing a move for the Wolves defender to replace James Tarkowski.

Brentford are lining up a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers' Ethan Ebanks-Landell as a replacement for Burnley-bound James Tarkowski, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Brentford are in the market for defensive reinforcements after finally agreeing to let Tarkowski leave for Championship rivals Burnley.

Highly-rated centre-back Ebanks-Landell has emerged on Brentford's radar after impressing in recent weeks for Wolves.

Ebanks-Landell has been a standout performer for Wolves after getting his chance in the starting XI after the start of December.

The 23-year-old helped Wolves keep three successive clean sheets over the busy festive period with wins over Reading, Charlton and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ebanks-Landell's performances have not gone unnoticed with several Premier League and Championship sides keeping tabs on his progress.

Brentford are now ready to test Wolves' resolve to hang on to the talented defender by making a £750,000 bid for Ebanks-Landell.

Ebanks-Landell is higly-rated at Wolves after coming through the ranks at Molineux and the club are reluctant to lose one of their prize assets.

However, the recent arrival of Mike Williamson from Newcastle could push Ebanks-Landell down the pecking order at Molineux alerting his suitors.
