The West Ham midfielder is delighted to now be a team-mate of the 28-year-old's.
Indeed, Song was taken aback by the 28-year-old's strength when he faced him.
And he is now delighted to have Emenike on board as a team-mate at West Ham.
Slaven Bilic's side were able to complete a loan move for the striker on Sunday night.
Song told the West Ham site: "I played against him three-years ago when I was playing centre-back for Barcelona. He was so strong and I was asking 'who is this guy'. He was so strong.
"It is great for us to have a player like this and I am very happy that he has signed for the club and can help us achieve what we want this season.
"He is very strong and very quick and it is good to have players like him who can make a difference."
Strength and pace together will make Emenike an interesting prospect.
In Andy Carroll, West Ham have strength. In Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho, the Hammers have craftier forwards.
Perhaps Emenike can be a combination of all three, linking up well with the equally quick Michail Antonio.
David Sullivan has confirmed West Ham have an option to buy the loanee at the end of the season. Should he settle well, he could become a prolific scorer at Upton Park - or even the Olympic Stadium.
