5pm deadline-day news: Tottenham youngster shares discussion, Perez sends message to Newcastle fans

The latest transfer news relating to Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Newcastle United.

Alex Pritchard

Tottenham Hotspur-owned youngster Alex Pritchard has revealed on West Bromwich Albion’s official website the discussion he had with manager Tony Pulis before his move to The Hawthorns.

The 22-year-old, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, has joined West Brom on loan from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

Pritchard, who has recently recovered from a long-term injury, is highly rated and is said to have a bright future.

The former England Under-21 international has revealed the discussion he had with Pulis before joining the Baggies.

“I spoke to Tony Pulis and coaches and was told to do my best, work hard and make an impression,” Pritchard told West Brom’s official website.

"I'm an attacking player, I like to get on the ball, make things happen and have an eye for goal. I can play on the wing or centrally - it's a dream to play in the Premier League and I hope I get that chance.”

Saido Berahino

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has suggested that his side will not be able to sign Saido Berahino from West Brom on transfer deadline day.

"I don't think I'll surprise you with any others,” Goal.com quotes Hughes as saying. “It’s no secret that we have been in the market for a certain West Brom player but West Brom have been consistent in their message. We don't expect that to change."

Ayoze Perez

Ayoze Perez has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract with Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old Spanish striker has put pen to paper on a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League side.
