Roberto Martinez has hailed Ross Barkley’s performance for Everton against Carlisle United on Sky Sports.
Barkley was applauded by all four sides of the ground, when he was substituted in the second half of Everton’s 3-0 win over the Cumbrians.
And Martinez claims that every football fan should be willing to pay their admission fee to watch a player of Barkley’s quality.
"It was good to see the Carlisle fans recognise Ross," the Spanish boss said. "I think people are starting to appreciate what an incredible English talent we are developing.
"Ross is a stylish footballer - any football fan would love to watch his skill and pay the price of their ticket to watch a footballer like him.”
Everton’s win over League Two side was comfortable, as the Toffees made their top flight quality show.
The Toffees took the lead through Arouna Kone early on and they never looked back as they booked their place in the last 16.
Aaron Lennon notched Everton’s second goal in the contest, before Barkley rounded off the triumph.
The goal was Barkley’s 11th in what has been a highly productive campaign for the England international.
Barkley has always been an exciting prospect, but he has added a cutting edge to his game and has matured into a crucial player for Martinez’s side in more recent times.
