According to a report on Sky Sports, Alex Pritchard is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur to join Burnley on loan until the end of the season.
Pritchard had been expected to make the breakthrough at White Hart Lane this season, but injury has curtailed his progress.
The 22-year-old has not been fit enough to take much of a part in the campaign and he has made just one appearance to date.
In Pritchard’s absence, Spurs have made good progress, and the youngster has slipped down the pecking order.
Pochettino still rates the attacking midfielder highly, but the Argentine boss reportedly realises that there is little chance for him to break into the first-team at this moment in time.
As a result, Spurs have sanctioned a loan deal as they feel the academy graduate’s progression would be aided by playing regularly.
Premier League clubs Norwich City and Swansea City, and Championship side Middlesbrough, had all reportedly been interested in signing Pritchard (Sky Sports), but the Lilywhites decided that sending him out to Turf Moor would be the best move to guarantee him regular matches.
