According to a report on Sky Sports’ live transfer feed at 18:02 on Sunday 31st January, Stoke City have lodged a bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.
Stoke are keen on landing the 22-year-old forward, and they are in competition with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
All three clubs are thought to be hopeful of landing Berahino before deadline day, and Newcastle kicked off the bidding earlier today with a £21 million, according to Sky Sports.
Stoke have now responded to that offer, by making a similar offer of their own.
Sky state that Stoke’s bid for Berahino is at least of the same amount of Newcastle’s offer, although it could be even more sizeable.
West Brom have so far rejected all offers for Berahino, but the striker has made no secret of his desire to leave The Hawthorns, and their resolve is set to be tested - once again - on deadline day.
Berahino has made just nine starts for the Baggies so far this term, but he has still managed to score six goals.
