Report outlines Berahino's preparations for late move, Newcastle favourites, Spurs still interested

The West Brom forward is reportedly still holding out for a late move, with Newcastle and Tottenham linked.

West Brom forward Saido Berahino has hired a personal trainer to trim down for a potential new club and still holds hope of a Deadline Day move away from the Hawthorns, according to the Sunday People.

Indeed, the 22-year-old scored two goals for the Baggies in the FA Cup against Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon but is said to be going to great lengths to ensure he is in shape - for his new club rather than West Brom.

The People report that Newcastle United are favourites to sign the forward, although Tottenham Hotspur are still said to be interested, preferring a summer move.

Newcastle are in desperate need of a goalscorer, while Tottenham need a back-up striker - although that could be a job for someone else, perhaps even already at Tottenham. 

West Brom fans, however, believe the Midlands club plan to keep Berahino, suggesting they wouldn't have risked him against Peterborough otherwise.

But both Spurs and Newcastle have been linked with the 22-year-old throughout January...
