According to The Sun, Aston Villa’s Gabriel Agbonlahor is set to stay at Villa Park until the end of the season.
Villa had actively been looking to offload Agbonlahor and they allegedly believed that he was on the verge of a move to Turkey.
However, the 29-year-old’s move to Kayserispor has fallen through at the last minute, and it seems that Agbonlahor will now remain with Remi Garde's side.
It is a blow for the Villans, who have been looking to clear their books to make room for new additions.
Manager Garde is yet to make a permanent signing in January, but he has been busy trimming his squad.
Villa have sold six players, but their failure to offload Charles N’Zogbia and Agbonlahor could be damaging, as they look to free up funds.
N’Zobgia is refusing to leave Villa, as he wants to see out the remainder of his £63,000-a-week contract, according to the Daily Mirror.
Villa are currently sat at the bottom of the Premier League, making their task of persuading players to join their survival fight a tough one.
