According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United have no interest in Davide Santon.
The Italian international has been linked with a return to St. James’ Park, as the Magpies look to increase their defensive options, but he is not believed to be on Steve McClaren’s wishlist.
Santon could be available for transfer as he has struggled for appearances at Inter Milan this season.
The 25-year-old has only played nine times for the Serie A giants this season and Newcastle know of his quality.
Santon was with the Magpies between 2011 and 2015 and built up a reputation as a solid and reliable full-back.
However, even after Newcastle’s failure to land Guilherme Siqueira from Atletico Madrid, they are not believed to be interested in Santon.
Newcastle, instead, have other targets who they will turn to before deadline day.
Newcastle have already added significantly in the January transfer window, but according to Sky Sports as many as three further additions could be made by the North East side tomorrow.
