The Aston Villa loanee felt Forest could have won their FA Cup tie.
Nottingham Forest's recent unbeaten run came to an end yesterday when they were defeated 1-0 by Watford in the FA Cup. A goal from Odion Ighalo did the damage at the City Ground but Forest would have felt aggrieved with the loss.
Dougie Freedman's men played exceptionally well against their Premier League opposition and had chances to win the game themselves, although the performance of Dorus de Vries in goal does deserve a special mention.
After the game the Forest players were undoubtedly upset to have lost such a close game.
Gary Gardner was one of them.
The loanee from Aston Villa took to Twitter after the game to express his disappointment at the result - sending this message to Forest fans:
Gutted ! Fans where brilliant! Thought we should have won! Roll on next week #nffc— Gary Gardner (@22Gards) January 30, 2016
Whilst Forest fans will be frustrated that they have gone out of the competition it at least means that they can now focus on the Championship.
The club look to have steadied this season and no longer look in any threat of relegation. Now they are just seven points off the play-offs.
They may now end up playing out a season of mid-table obscurity but they will hopefully be able to build on a solid end of the season ahead of next term.
