Although the defeats were highly disappointing at the time, Dier feels that they have helped Tottenham in the long run.
“We've had a couple of losses - Newcastle and Leicester at home - but overall those losses have helped us, because every time we've reacted and gone on a good run,” the England international said.
“Now it's up to us to keep up with this run home and away.”
Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 10 away matches in all competitions, having beaten Colchester United 4-1 in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
Spurs are still in contention to win the treble this season, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side looking strong both domestically and in Europe.
Tottenham are just five points off the top of the Premier League, and they have also made good progress in the Europa League - with a tie against Fiorentina to come in February.
Tottenham will now be looking to protect their impressive unbeaten away record by defeating Norwich City in their next outing at Carrow Road on Tuesday evening.
