Report: Swansea receive loan offer from Marseille for out-of-favour forward Eder

Marseille and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Swansea City’s Eder.

According to the Daily Mail, Marseille have launched an offer to take Swansea City’s out of favour forward Eder on loan until the end of the current campaign.

The report states the French side are keen on bringing in Eder for the next six months while exercising the option of a £5 million permanent switch in the summer.

The Portugal international moved to the Liberty Stadium from Braga last summer, yet so far he has only made two Premier League starts with another ten appearances coming off the bench.

Clearly on the peripherals of the Swans’ first-team, Eder’s chances of regular action has taken another hit by the recent arrival of Alberto Paloschi from Serie A side Chievo.

A previous report in the Daily Mail accredited Wolverhampton Wanderers with submitting a loan offer for the forward, yet Swansea ultimately turned down the offer.

Now that Paloschi has joined Swansea, perhaps the Welsh side would be more willing to allow Eder to join Wolves until the end of the season though the Molineux side now have competition for his signature.

Marseille have European football to offer and are undoubtedly a bigger club than Wolves, yet the former Braga man may feel he still has plenty left to offer English football.

His last appearance for Swansea came in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool back in November, a clear indication that he is currently surplus to requirements at the Liberty Stadium.
