Report: Fulham in race to sign Anderlecht winger Ibrahima Conte on loan

The Guinea international is also wanted in Greece, France and Belgium.

Reports in Belgium this morning are suggesting that Fulham are keen on bringing in Anderlecht star Ibrahima Conte this weekend as they look to strengthen their squad.

Voetbal Nieuws in Belgium is reporting that Fulham are one of four teams who have made an approach to take Conte from Brussels - as he looks for regular first-team football.

The report claims that Fulham will also be battling with Gus Poyet's AEK Athens for his signature - along with Stade Reims of France and Belgian outfit KV Oostende.

The deal will certainly have to be a loan deal. Fulham currently find themselves under a transfer embargo in the Championship for Financial Fair Play irregularities.

The Guinea international is an attacking midfielder or winger who joined Anderlecht in 2014 after impressing for Zulte Waregem.

However the 24-year-old has struggled to establish himself at the Constant Vanden Stock and has featured just five times for the club this season and the recent recruitment of Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica.

How Fulham will structure any deal is yet to be reported but Conte could certainly be an exciting acquisition if the Cottagers can get it over the line.
