According to Sky Sports, Newcastle are close to the signing of the full-back from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.
Balague seems to believe that the 29-year-old left-back would be a success at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle close to a loan deal with LB Siqueira (Atletico) as per @SkySportsNewsHQ but deal not finalised yet— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) January 29, 2016
Siqueira: clever guy, always cheerful. Better attackng than defendng but learnt lots with Simeone. If he goes at Newcstle he'll adapt easily— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) January 29, 2016
Siqueira joined Atletico from fellow Spanish side Granada in the summer of 2014. The Brazilian left-back played quite regularly last season, scoring one goal and creating 13 chances in 25 La Liga games.
However, so far this campaign, the former Udinese defender has managed to make just one appearance in La Liga for Atletico.
If Siqueira joins Newcastle, then he is likely to be a back-up as it is hard to see him dislodge Paul Dummett at the moment.
Steve McClaren’s side are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 23 matches, just two points behind 17th-placed Norwich City.
