Both sides played out a far-from-ideal 0-0 draw at Anfield but Liverpool will be less satisfied with the outcome in the knowledge another trip to Upton Park now awaits them.
And Gold was delighted with the West Ham fans and the influence they had against Jurgen Klopp's men.
Not at our best but with 3000 passionate fans behind our lads we managed to hold Liverpool to a draw and take them back to Upton Park. dg— David Gold (@davidgold) January 30, 2016
West Ham are still unbeaten against Liverpool this season and should fare well at Upton Park - especially if their fans bring the noise.
Both the east London club and the Reds will be looking for strong league finishes while also maintaining their FA Cup hopes. For Liverpool, however, the Capital One Cup final obviously takes priority.
