Liverpool edged into the fourth round of the cup by beating League Two side Exeter City in a replay, and are coming off the back of cup success against Stoke City in midweek.
They may have lost 1-0 at home to Stoke in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final at Anfield, but a win on penalties has sent the Reds into the final against Manchester City next month.
Manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for the same in the FA Cup, but they need to get past West Ham United at Anfield this evening.
The Hammers beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield earlier in the season, before beating them 2-0 at Upton Park earlier this month, and Slaven Bilic will feel confident of making it three victories over the Reds this term as they lock horns again tonight.
However, pundit Mark Lawrenson - who has become known for tipping West Ham to lose virtually every game they play in - has once again predicted a defeat for the Hammers.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Lawrenson joked about his alleged vendetta against West Ham, before stating that Liverpool's passage into the final of the Capital One Cup will lift them for tonight's game on Merseyside.
"I am at Anfield for this game and expecting to hear a few songs from the travelling West Ham supporters who have been unhappy with my predictions - I will give them a wave," joked Lawrenson. "The Hammers have beaten Liverpool twice this season in the Premier League with an aggregate score of 5-0, so they definitely know how to play against them."
"The question is, will Liverpool have learned from what happened in those games? I don't think they will be as bad as they were at Upton Park earlier this month. I also think reaching the Capital One Cup final will lift everybody in Jurgen Klopp's squad, and bring extra competition for places. So I am going to go for a Liverpool win, which will really please my new West Ham friends," he added.
