Shamrock Rovers talent Aaron Dobbs scores on Celtic trial, backed by Paul McGrath

The Shamrock Rovers forward looks a good prospect for the future.

Celtic's first-team have been catching the eye for giving trials to a few young talents recently, with Kristoffer Ajer and Ljuban Crepulja both taking in training stints at the club.

But they also have a 17-year-old Irishman currently at the club, according to former Aston Villa star and Republic of Ireland international Paul McGrath.

He sent out this tweet the other day regarding 17-year-old Shamrock Rovers talent Aaron Dobbs:

He then sent out this message today regarding the talented teenager - who appears to have made a good impression early on at Celtic:

According to the FAI's stats portal Hobbs is a 17-year-old forward with bags of goals in him. In fact, this season he has netted 18 goals in 13 appearances, according to the portal.

Those numbers are hard to ignore and the Shamrock Rovers under-17 captain clearly has someone looking after him in McGrath - who came through the ranks at Irish club St Patrick's Athletic before moving on to Manchester United - who clearly knows what it takes to make it across the water.

Hobbs is certainly a name for Celtic fans to keep an eye out for and football fans in general as he might prove a little gem in the future.
