Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told The Scottish Sun that Kieran Tierney is like Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard.
Tierney is just 18 years of age and plays as a left-back, and he is considered as one of the brightest young prospects in Scotland.
The Scotland Under-19 international has played quite a few games for Celtic so far this season and has impressed everyone.
Meanwhile, Odegaard is 17 years old and plays as an attacking midfielder. The teenager joined Spanish giants Madrid from Stromsgodset in January 2015 and is rated as one of the brightest young prospects in Europe.
The 17-year-old made his debut for Los Blancos’ first team last season and has played eight times for the Norway national team.
Deila worked with Odegaard at Stromsgodset, and he has highlighted the similarities between him and Tierney.
“KT and Martin are very similar in terms of character,” the Celtic manager told The Scottish Sun. “Martin made his debut for us at just 14, and the day after he was in the headlines in every newspaper having played so well after coming on.
“But that day at 8am he was in the gym! Martin now plays for Real Madrid, but when he is home in Norway he is down on the same pitch he played on as a kid and has an extra hour or two every day.
“Martin always wants to learn and to get better and KT and him are examples for others to follow. Nothing comes for free.”
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 55 points from 23 matches.
The Glasgow giants are six points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and are firm favourites to win the league title this season.
