Rob Elliot reacts on Twitter to Mike Williamson's move to Wolves

Coloccini And Williamson

The 29-year-old Newcastle goalkeeper has sent the defender a message on social media.

Newcastle United goalkeeper has wished Mike Williamson all the best after Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed the signing of the defender on Friday morning.

Williamson had previously spent a loan spell at Wolves and has now completed a permanent move to Molineux.

And Elliot has described the 32-year-old as 'one of the best pros' he's ever seen. The goalkeeper also believes Williamson is a 'great guy' and sent him a message on Twitter after his Wolves switch was announced:

Williamson had received plenty of criticism from Newcastle fans during his time with the Magpies. He was brought in to do a job in the Championship and duly did.

However, he was accused of being way out of his depth in the Premier League.

That's good news for Wolves, though, as Williamson showed great form for the Midlands outfit while in the second tier.

If Newcastle aren't careful, of course, they could be joining Williamson in the division next season. But Elliot will certainly have something to say about that...
