Di Marzio’s report states that Roma wish to complete a deal for the winger today, but both Milan and Leicester are ready to step in should the clubs fall short of an agreement.
Leicester currently top the Premier League table, a magnificent achievement considering their near relegation last term and their ensuing budget compared with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.
With a place in next season’s edition of the Champions League agonizingly close, the Foxes have looked to add one or two quality players this month to ensure at least a top four spot.
According to a recent report in Calciomercato, Perotti was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, with the Italian publication claiming a meeting took place between club and player representatives.
However, talk of a Premier League switch for the 27-year-old has been rather mute this month and Leicester’s alleged late interest has come out of the blue somewhat.
Perotti has won two caps with Argentina during a five-year spell at Sevilla, but his career took what appears to be backwards step when he left the La Liga outfit for Genoa in 2014.
The talented winger has rediscovered his groove in Serie A, though, as he averages 2.1 key passes and 3.7 successful take-ons per league match, attracting Roma, Milan and now Leicester.
