Report: Klopp to make several changes for West Ham cup clash

Giant Anfield Flag

With fixtures continuing to come thick and fast, Jurgen Klopp may make changes again.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to make several changes for the side's FA Cup fourth round clash with West Ham United at Anfield tomorrow evening, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for the Reds and after being taken all the way to extra time and penalties by Stoke City in midweek as Liverpool reached the final of the League Cup, Klopp will undoubtedly feel that some players are in need of a rest - with a midweek Premier League programme to follow when the side will travel to league leaders Leicester City on Tuesday.

The Echo's report suggests that Joe Allen, Brad Smith, Christian Benteke and Jordon Ibe are all in line for a start while Dejan Lovren could make a comeback from a hamstring injury.

Other players said to be under consideration are Steven Caulker, Cameron Brannagan and Joao Carlos Teixeira as the Liverpool manager looks to freshen up his side, but the report does say the side won't be as young as the one that faced Exeter City in the previous round.

Of course, with this comes a gamble as the Reds would like to remain competitive on all four fronts but Klopp has repeatedly stated the need to use other members of his squad in order to keep key members of his side fresh. He isn't exactly blessed with striking options but one or two key players are starting to return from their spell on the sidelines.

It will be interesting to see if there is a change in goalkeeper by giving Danny Ward his first senior start or whether Klopp will stick with Simon Mignolet after Tuesday's penalty shootout.

It looks as if it will be a much changed Liverpool line-up, and one wonders whether it will be strong enough to beat a West Ham side that has got the better of the Reds twice already this season.
