Report: AS Roma interested in signing Tottenham and West Ham defenders

The Italian side are keen on Federico Fazio and Angelo Ogbonna.

AS Roma are said to be taking a keen interest in two Premier League defenders this month, to strengthen their current defensive ranks.

The two players involved in the link are Federico Fazio and Angelo Ogbonna of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham respectively, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.

Fazio has struggled since his move to England. His last game in the Premier League came last season and the former Sevilla star looks surplus to requirements at Spurs.

The Argentine international has played just once this season, in a Capital One Cup defeat to North London rivals Arsenal as the arrival of Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer pushed him down the pecking order.

But with Jan Vertonghen out injured Tottenham are unlikely to sell at this point in time.

Ogbonna joined West Ham from Juventus and this week was speaking of his happiness at the club. His form at the start of the season was sketchy although he has recently established himself as a first-team regular at Upton Park. West Ham would be unlikely to sell the player.

Roma's new boss Luciano Spaletti has made bringing in a new centre-back one of his main objectives at the Stadio Olimpico. However he may not have much luck in pursuit of the Tottenham and West Ham pair.
