Paul Merson believes Bolton Wanderers will draw 1-1 with Leeds United in the FA Cup this weekend, according to his regular predictions column on Sky Sports.
Indeed, the pundit feels the cup clash will be more important for Bolton - due to finances - and thinks a 'massive game' could be in store for the winner in the next round.
Neil Lennon's men have struggled all season due to the difficult circumstances surrounding the club, while Leeds have had a less controversial last few months.
And Merson told Sky Sports: "Bolton need the pennies, if they win this then they could get a good draw live on the TV, so it's a much bigger game for them than it is for Leeds.
"I'm going for a draw and then I think the fifth-round draw will be made with the reward of a massive game for either side, making it even bigger for Bolton in the replay."
The appeal for Bolton, as Merson has explained, is obvious.
He shouldn't rule out what it means for Leeds, though. As Noel Whelan explained on Twitter on Thursday morning, the FA Cup is a 'great distraction' for the Whites.
The FA cup it's a great distraction from the league and great occasion for the fans there's a great tradition & magic about the FA cup— Noel David Whelan (@NoelDavidWhelan) January 28, 2016
Steve Evans himself has described the knockout tournament as 'magical' and Leeds will no doubt see Bolton's plight as a great opportunity for them to progress.
