Tottenham's Nathan Oduwa has played his first game sine returning from Rangers.

Nathan Oduwa has returned to action, featuring for Tottenham Hotspur's under-21 side against Chelsea.

Oduwa had been on loan at Scottish giants Rangers, only to surprisingly return to Spurs earlier this month.

The reason for his return has not been disclosed, but he was left out of the starting line-up during the final few weeks of his loan.

He was a second half substitute in the under-21 cup game against Chelsea, coming on with Spurs 3-2 down.

Oduwa could not turn the game around for Tottenham, with Chelsea pushing on and winning by a comprehensive scoreline of 5-2.

It remains unclear whether Spurs want to use Oduwa in the first team, would prefer to send him on loan again, or simply choose to monitor him more closely by keeping him in the under-21s.

The 19-year-old remains a raw prospect, full of tricks and still working on his end product. Last night was his first appearance since a Scottish Championship clash against Falkirk on December 19.
