Tottenham will take on Colchester away from home in the fourth round of the prestigious cup competition on Saturday afternoon.
Owen has backed Spurs to clinch the tie at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and has written on Betvictor.com: “The U’s haven’t won since beating Charlton in the 3rd Round and I don’t expect them to stop the Premier League side, who have won their last three in all competitions and continue to impress.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Spurs to win to nil at 8/5.”
Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Andy Gray has also predicted Tottenham to win against Colchester and progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
“This is a great opportunity for Spurs to rest up a few players,” Gray has written on Paddypower.com.
“The squad looks happy with each other, there’s a real tightness about them. Whatever side he picks, I think Spurs will be very comfortable. The value on first goalscorer is Nacer Chadli.”
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is likely to keep some of his key players on the substitutes’ bench for the game. The North London outfit will head into the tie as massive favourites and will be expected to win by a big margin.
Colchester are a League One side and are in real danger of getting relegated at the end of the season. Kevin Keen’s team are at the foot of the league table at the moment, and things are looking bleak for them.
Winning against prospective Premier League title winners Spurs will give Colchester a boost, but their priority now is to survive in League One.
