Wolves have signed Cardiff’s Joe Mason and Newcastle’s Mike Williamson.

Taking to his personal Twitter account, Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards has welcomed Mike Williamson and Joe Mason to Molineux following their signings.

Mason links up with Wolves from fellow Championship side Cardiff, having spent the last five years in Wales.

He managed 24 goals in 106 games for the Bluebirds, spending three separate loan spells with Bolton Wanderers.

He is well regarded for his goalscoring abilities in the Championship, and the 24-year-old will bring an added attacking threat to a Wolves side who have recently lost Benik Afobe to Bournemouth.

Kenny Jackett has also completed a permanent deal for Mike Williamson, who spent a five-game loan spell at Molienux earlier this season.

He performed well in the centre of defence, and with first-team chances limited at St James’ Park, Williamson was looking to move back to Wolves.

They have brought the 32-year-old in on a permanent deal, and that should complete Jackett’s business this transfer window.
