Robbie Savage offers his thoughts on Hull City

Steve Bruce

Hull City are at the top of the Championship table at the moment.

Former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage spoke highly of Hull City and their manager Steve Bruce on the BBC 5 live 606 show on Saturday evening (January 23).

“(Steve Bruce is) doing a great job once again,” said Savage. “To be fair to Hull, they got relegated, they stuck with him and he is rewarding them. Fantastic.”

Hull are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 56 points from 28 matches. The Tigers are a point clear of second-placed Middlesbrough, who have a game in hand.

Steve Bruce’s side are playing well at the moment and look set for a top-two finish in the league table this campaign.

That will guarantee Hull automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, and it will be a massive achievement indeed.

Bruce has been in charge of Hull since 2012, and the owners should be commended for not sacking him at the end of last season.

It would have been easy for the Tigers’ bosses to get rid of the former Manchester United central defender following relegation from the English top flight, but they retained their faith in him.
