The West Bromwich Albion star continues to be linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur fans may be getting tired of the constant links with West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, but according to the London Evening Standard Mauricio Pochettino’s side will not be making another bid until they receive encouragement from The Hawthorns.
Given how quickly their previous bids were rejected, West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is unlikely to give Tottenham the nod to make a fresh offer any time soon. However, the transfer window is known for springing a surprise or two along the way.
The Standard claims Tottenham will not pay close to their summer offers to sign the striker this month, but that they will come back to the negotiating table if Peace shows a willingness to drop his asking price to around £15million.
When you consider Berahino’s current situation at West Brom, and the fact he has only 18 months left on his current deal, there may come a time when Peace has to backtrack slightly on his £25million valuation.
But given their recent history it seems highly unlikely West Brom will suddenly knock £10million off so Tottenham can get a deal over the line in the coming days.
