Sunderland are keen to sign another forward before the close of the January transfer window.
Sunderland are determined to bring in another forward before deadline day, and Khazri is reportedly on Sam Allardyce’s wishlist.
The Black Cats had wanted to bring in Andre Ayew from Swansea City, but they are close to giving up their pursuit of the Ghanian.
Swansea have rebuffed all of Sunderland’s attempts to sign Ayew so far, and the Welsh club are reluctant to sell the attacker.
Allardyce’s men do believe that Khazri will be available, however, and they plan to offer Bordeaux £8 million for the Tunisian international.
Khazri has scored six times in 25 appearances for Bordeaux this season, playing in an attacking midfield role.
With Jermain Defoe likely to remain Sunderland’s main goalscorer, Allardyce feels that Khazri’s creativity could complement him well.
And the Mail suggests that the 24-year-old could move to the Stadium of Light before deadline day.
If Khazri does join Sunderland he would become their fifth addition of a busy January transfer window.
