According to a report in the Guardian, Swansea City have made a £7.5 million bid for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.
The 25-year-old front man is believed to be available for transfer in January, with his first team chances looking limited.
Emmanuel Adebayor’s arrival at Palace has forced Gayle further down the pecking order, and Swansea are keen to snap him up.
The Welsh side believe that Gayle could add the clinical finishing that they have been missing, and are prepared to spend big to sign him.
However, Swansea’s deal is complicated as Norwich City could be set to respond to the bid.
Norwich have signed Steven Naismith from Everton already, but they are keen to add another striker before the end of the month.
Alex Neil’s side have been long term admirers of Gayle. and they reportedly could try to rival Swansea in the hunt for the former Peterborough United man.
