Manchester United have decided against loaning Andreas Pereira.
Manchester United have told Andreas Pereira he cannot leave the club on loan this transfer window, report The Sun.
The paper claim league leaders Leicester City had made their interest known in the player, but the Red Devils want to keep him around.
Pereira is a Brazil under-20 international and scored for United in the Capital One Cup this year, but has found Premier League appearances hard to come by despite impressive displays for the under-21s.
He has been unfortunate as he is a central midfielder, the one position United have plenty of options and not struggled with injuries.
At Leicester he could have linked up with former United youngsters Danny Drinkwater and Danny Simpson, who are both impressing for the Foxes this season.
United's stance regarding Pereira is at least a good sign they intend to give him chances this season. With the club still in the FA Cup and Europa League, there will be further need to rotate the squad.
There also may have been the worry that Pereira could have gone on to collect a league title medal with Leicester, a potentially embarrassing scenario for the Red Devils.
