The Sky Sports pundit believes the Tottenham boss will be taking the FA Cup seriously.
Paul Merson believes Tottenham Hotspur are a 'cert' to beat Colchester United in the FA Cup this weekend, according to his regular Sky Sports predictions column.
And the pundit feels Mauricio Pochettino won't be taking this game lightly in terms of team selection after the north London side put in some serious effort against Leicester City (over two games) in the last round.
"There is no point in them drawing with Leicester at home, going to the King Power Stadium and winning and then taking this game lightly. I think they are a cert."
It's a fair point. Pochettino made his feelings on the FA Cup clear when he went for it at Leicester - and the move paid off.
Ultimately, when it comes to winning the cup, Tottenham are just a handful of games away.
Even if Spurs fans would prefer the Premier League title - and if they think it's definitely possible - the FA Cup is far more attainable simply in terms of the amount of twists and turns required to win it.
Barring a mother of shocks, Tottenham should see themselves into the next round.
