Michael Ball slams Everton's performance on Twitter; singles out Romelu Lukaku for criticism

Everton were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last night.

Michael Ball has slammed Everton’s performance against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup yesterday.

The former Toffees defender was highly frustrated with his old side’s performance, as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat to City.

Everton had a one-goal advantage to protect at the Etihad Stadium but, despite taking the lead, they could not make it into the final.

And Ball was frustrated with Roberto Martinez’s tactics in the fixture, and Romelu Lukaku’s performance up front.

Everton had taken the lead against City when Ross Barkley went on a wonderful run, and slammed the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

However, as the game progressed, City became more threatening and showed their attacking class.

Goals from Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero condemned Everton to a heartbreaking defeat which has heaped further pressure on Martinez.
