Derby County defender Ryan Shotton is undergoing a medical at Birmingham City ahead of a loan move to St Andrew's, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Birmingham have agreed a deal with Championship rivals Derby to take former Stoke City man Shotton on loan until the end of the season.
Shotton has dropped down the pecking order at the iPro Stadium this season, with Cyrus Christie ahead of him in Derby boss Paul Clement's plans.
The 27-year-old has made only seven appearances all season and he is thought to be keen on a move away in search of regular action.
Derby are happy to loan out Shotton and Birmingham have moved quickly to agree a deal for the versatile performer.
Shotton, who can play in defence or midfield, came through the ranks at Stoke and was a regular member of the side under Tony Pulis in the Premier League.
Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has been busy in the transfer window bringing in the likes of Will Buckley, James Vaughan, Diego Fabbrini and it seems Shotton will be the latest new arrival at St Andrew's.
