Swansea's Gerhard Tremmel reportedly set to join Werder Bremen on loan

The Swansea City stopper has not featured all season.

According to a report from the BBC, Swansea City goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel is set to join German club Werder Bremen for the rest of the season.

The 37-year-old returned to the Liberty Stadium at the start of the current campaign having previously been released, but he has not made a single first-team appearance all season and has only been named on the substitutes’ bench four times in all competitions.

As a result it is no surprise to hear he wants to move on and Bremen reportedly wish to sign the experienced stopper on loan.

Tremmel has featured 52 times for the Swans, keeping 14 clean sheets in the process. However it seems he has long since played his last game for the Welsh side and will now look to get more game-time in the Bundesliga.

The German previously played for the likes of Energie Cottbus, Red Bull Salzburg and Hannover among others.

Swansea currently find themselves fighting a relegation battle and are likely to do more business before the January transfer window slams shut.
