Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers enquired about Conor Washington and Yann Kermorgant

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to end their search for a striker by signing Joe Mason.

According to the Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers made enquiries for both Conor Washington and Yann Kermorgant earlier in the January transfer window.

Washington and Kermorgant moved to Queens Park Rangers and Reading, respectively, earlier this month, but Wolves apparently had an interest in the pair.

Kenny Jackett’s side have been on the hunt for a front man ever since Benik Afobe left them to join for Bournemouth.

Wolves’ search for a number nine has proved frustrating so far, with many of their targets heading elsewhere.

Washington became QPR’s replacement for Charlie Austin, and has now played twice for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side.

Kermorgant, meanwhile, has joined Reading and he impressed on debut against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

Wolves’ search for a striker could be set to end in the coming days, though, as the club have confirmed that they are close to agreeing a deal for Cardiff City hitman Joe Mason.
