West Brom have entered the race for Mario Suarez of Fiorentina, the Watford Observer reports.
The Baggies are hoping to tie up a deal for the Spanish international midfielder, who is looking to leave La Viola this month having been granted few chances of first-team football since his summer transfer from Atletico Madrid.
Watford have been attempting to sign the 28-year-old for much of the January window, and the Mirror claim that they are closing in on a deal for him.
Suarez favours a reunion with Quique Sanchez Flores, the Hornets’ head coach who coached the midfielder at Atletico.
It is stated that they are moving in on a £6 million deal for Suarez, but West Brom are ready to hijack Watford’s bid with a move of their own.
Tony Pulis will be aware that a £6 million bid is enough for Fiorentina to sell Suarez, although it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old would opt to sign for the Midlands side over the team coached by his former head coach.
