Swansea have made an approach for Chievo Verona striker Paloschi.

Swansea have submitted a formal bid for Alberto Paloschi, the Daily Mail reports.

The Swans are looking to add more firepower to their side, and recently appointed head coach Francesco Guidolin is looking to raid his homeland of Italy for a new striker.

He knows Serie A well, and has identified Paloschi, as a player who can improve the Swans’ attacking options.

A £7.8 million bid has been submitted for the transfer of Paloschi, who has been watched by the Welsh club recently. Gianluca Di Marzio claim that the bid has been accepted, and that the player will enter into personal talks with the Swans in the coming days.

Who is Alberto Paloschi?

Paloschi, 26, is a striker who has spent his entire career in Italy. A former Italian youth international, he started his career with Milan, moving on to Parma and Genoa, before linking up with Chievo in 2011.

He was originally signed on loan, before they made the deal permanent in January 2013, and he has gone on to score 45 goals in 153 appearances for the club.

A respectable tally, Paloschi has eight goals in 21 games this season, and could be up for the challenge of the Premier League now that Swansea are looking to sign him.
